What we offer
Psychological support for the whole person
We offer thoughtful, evidence-based psychological support for adults, alongside consultation, reflective practice and shared learning for professionals and organisations.
Individual psychological therapy
A place to understand what is happening and what might help
You do not need a diagnosis or a polished explanation to begin. Therapy can help when something has happened, when a pattern keeps repeating, or when life simply feels harder than you want it to.
Start with what matters now
We begin with what brings you here, what you are hoping for and enough background to start understanding the wider picture. You remain in control of what you share and when.
Build a shared understanding
Together we look at patterns, experiences, relationships, health and context. We bring evidence-based psychological expertise; you bring knowledge of your life. Our understanding can change as we learn more.
Agree what may help
That might involve changing patterns, processing difficult experiences, strengthening relationships, developing new ways of coping or understanding yourself differently.
How therapy can help
Making sense of what is happening and creating more choice
Therapy is a collaborative process of understanding what may be contributing to distress, what has helped you cope, and what might make life feel more manageable or flexible.
Feel heard and validated
Make room for your experience without minimising it, rushing to fix it or assuming there is one correct explanation.
Notice patterns
Recognise recurring cycles, triggers and responses, and understand how thoughts, emotions, behaviour and relationships may connect.
Understand ways of coping
Explore how particular responses may have developed, what they have helped you manage, and whether they still work for you now.
Consider context and systems
Consider physical health, relationships, identity, culture, work, discrimination and the wider systems around you.
Develop different responses
Experiment with new ways of responding, relating, setting boundaries, managing difficult feelings or treating yourself with greater compassion.
Process difficult experiences
Where relevant, work carefully with trauma, loss or other painful experiences at a pace that prioritises safety, choice and readiness.
Groups and shared learning
Some support can be useful in a group setting
As Asteria develops, we may offer small psychological or psychoeducational groups around areas where shared experience can be helpful. Any groups would be clearly described in advance so you can decide whether the format feels right for you.
We also provide workshops and training for teams and organisations where psychological thinking may be useful.
For professionals and organisations
Consultation and reflective practice
We can offer psychologically informed consultation to professionals, teams and services when work feels complex, uncertain or stuck. This may include formulation, reflective practice, trauma-informed and neuroaffirming thinking, inclusive practice and service development.
Not sure which kind of support fits?
You do not need to work that out before getting in touch. Tell us briefly what you are looking for and we will consider the fit with you.
